Hello All, I'm a recent member to Nor Cal so I'm not 100% sure if this is were I post things. But I'm going to give it a shot. Yesterday at work at Escalon Fire, I got the Denver prop approved to be built. Our first training prop, we are excited for it. But the Chief throw a little screw ball into it. He wants it to be a true Firefighter survival training prop so we can teach the Firefighter survival class. So my question is what is the other props needed to do this? Also how do you become an instructor in this course cause its not a State Class right? I would love your guys input on this.
Thank you all
Cassidy

Good to hear that you are moving forward with your training program. There is an FSTEP class titled RIC tactics. It was 16 hours but I believe it is going to 24 if not 40 hours. The student and instructor materials are available from the State Fire Marshals Book store. osfm.fire.ca.gov/training/training.php Hope this helps

Also remember that there are specific measurements for a "Denver Prop" I found them online. Great job on getting this together for your department!!! Here at 7's we are in the process of building a roof prop on steroids...pitched roof, flat roof, denver prop, confidence course, forceable entry prop...all in one Build it and they will come.

hello everyone,
I'm new to this forum stuff and wanted to add some things to this topic. I currently work with cassidyb on the same shift and we have both been assigned these special projects together. Our shift is in charge of training and our supervisor is in charge of the training division. We are both very excited to move forward with this Denver Prop Project and we will be taking the initial steps to build it this month. We will be building some vent props as well in the near future. 2DAWGS, you said that you guys are building a vent prop on roids. Would it be possible to send us some pic's or just give us some ideas for our project. I think that a roided out prop would be VERY beneficial for us.
Thanks...G
